Menno-Simons Community School

Menno-Simons Community School is a K-9 public school located in Cleardale, AB. In addition to being a school of over 100 students and 20 staff members, the building also serves as a community hub supported by the Cleardale Agricultural Society, Menno-Simons School Council, Clear Hills County and the Youth Enhancement Society. These dynamic partnerships support our efforts to be the school students are drawn to, parents are partnered with, and where academic excellence is paramount.
As a part of the Peace River School Division, we believe in growth and success for all and this is reflected in our varied course offerings based on the Alberta Education programs of studies. We proudly offer all of the core courses of study (i.e. Math, Language Arts, Science, Social Studies and Physical Education). As well, we currently feature many optional courses, which we believe enhance the quality of education; for example, research has demonstrated that Dramatic Arts support English language learners, Music education increases student engagement and the development of numeracy skills, and Visual Arts ignite creative thinking, which is critical to problem-solving. Fostering inclusion, all of our grades 1-6 students are enthusiastically involved in these programs.
Junior High students also focus on the core courses, along with their education being enhanced by participation in Career and Technology Studies, such as: Food and Fashion Studies; and optional courses such as Outdoor Education and Dramatic Arts round out their experiences here at Menno-Simons. This small school has big ambitions!
